MOUA Milestones

The Museum of Underwater Art is the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and will use art to highlight one of the world’s greatest natural wonder- the Great Barrier Reef.

Our vision is to create a global art attraction which tells the stories of the land, people and environment; provides significant economic benefit to the local economy and builds the capacity of operators and businesses within the local tourism industry.

Artist Jason deCaires Taylor is a world-renowned sculptor whose works have reached a global audience of over 1 billion people.

Jason’s North Queensland works are designed to be thought provoking and put the health of the Great Barrier Reef front and centre in the minds of all who see the Museum of Underwater Art.
